Trivia in Drakes, San Carlos CA is the most stunning experience on Earth. While folks are yawning on an African safari, shrugging off the sight of the aurora borealis, or feigning bewilderment at the Roman Coliseum, the liveliest people in the world are engaged in a battle of wits at my trivia shows. Last night was a true wonder to behold.
With brilliance, SLOPPY TACOS captured the breath and admiration of their spectators, and scored tonight’s high of 28 points.
TROPIC OF ANSWER had the same ambition, but settled for just short of remarkable with a cheer-worthy second place score of 27 points.
Our third place team, LAST RESPONDERS, didn’t feel a need to be awe-inspiring. Sometimes making it onto the podium with sincerity and determination is enough, and they still made history tonight with 25 points.
The rest of our teams tried valiantly to shock, impress, and bewilder. These folks may have fallen short, but still managed to cultivate a loving and cheerful trivia community here in the Bay Area. Bravo.
